Active Swing Mechanism

Precision spring embedded in the seat mechanism tilts gently in all directions. Responds to your body weight for continuous micro-movement — less than 5° in each direction. Adjustable tension.

Patented Split Seat with Adjustable Width

Salli's patented two-part seat eliminates perineal pressure entirely. The SwingFit's adjustable split width lets you position the seat halves precisely under your sitting bones for a perfect fit.

Width & Height Adjustment

Seat width is fully adjustable. Three gas stem height options cover users under 5ft, under 5ft 6 and over 5ft 5. Getting height right — hips above knees — is critical to the ergonomic benefit.

Improved Circulation & Reduced Fatigue

The open hip angle of saddle sitting improves blood flow to the legs and feet. Practitioners regularly report feeling less tired at the end of the day.

Natural Lumbar Curve Restored

Saddle sitting automatically tilts the pelvis forward, restoring the spine's natural S-curve. The SwingFit adds continuous micro-movement on top — reducing static spinal load further.

Frequently asked questions

Salli SwingFit — FAQ

Everything you need to know about the Salli SwingFit before you buy or trial one.

About the SwingFit

The SwingFit is unique in combining two key features: an adjustable-width split seat and a precision-engineered active swing mechanism. The seat tilts gently in all directions in response to your body weight — less than 5° — creating continuous micro-movement. This distinguishes it from the Twin (fixed seat, no swing) and the MultiAdjuster (adjustable width and tilt but no swing). It is the most feature-rich of the three core Salli split-seat models.
It's very subtle — most people don't notice it at first. The seat moves less than 5 degrees in any direction in response to shifts in your body weight. It's not a rocking chair — it's a gentle, controlled micro-movement that keeps your core muscles lightly engaged throughout the day. Practitioners describe it as feeling more "alive" than a fixed seat, with less of the stiffness that comes from sitting completely static for hours. The tension of the spring mechanism is adjustable.
The adjustable-width split seat means the two seat halves can be positioned precisely under the sitting bones regardless of pelvis width. Female practitioners typically have a wider pelvis than male, so the ability to fine-tune the seat gap makes a significant difference to comfort. The SwingFit is available in both standard (405–425mm) and small/narrow (345–365mm) seat widths — making it suitable for a very wide range of body types. Its active mechanism also tends to resonate well with practitioners who want to stay active during long procedures.
Yes — the SwingFit is very effective for back pain. The saddle position naturally restores the lumbar curve, and the active swing mechanism reduces static spinal load by keeping the core lightly engaged. However, if you have acute or severe back pain and need maximum adjustability to find a pain-free position, the Salli MultiAdjuster may be a better starting point — it offers forward tilt which is specifically beneficial for certain back conditions. We'd recommend trialling both if possible. Call us and we'll advise based on your specific situation.
Both have the active swing mechanism. The key difference is seat width: the Salli Swing has a fixed-width split seat, while the SwingFit has an adjustable-width split seat. If you want the active swing and want to fine-tune the seat gap to your specific pelvis, the SwingFit is the right choice. If you prefer a simpler model with the swing and are happy with a fixed seat width, the Swing is £76 cheaper.

Sizing & setup

Salli stools come in three height ranges:
  • Small — for users under 5ft (42.9–54.4cm seat height)
  • Medium — for users under 5ft 6 (51.6–69.6cm seat height) — most popular
  • Large — for users over 5ft 5 (58.4–82.6cm seat height)
The golden rule: when correctly adjusted, your hips should sit slightly higher than your knees with feet flat on the floor. See our full sizing guide for more detail, or call us and we'll advise you directly.
The standard seat (405–425mm) suits the majority of users and is the default choice. The small/narrow seat (345–365mm) is 5–7cm narrower and is recommended for users under 5ft 6 or those with a narrower frame who find the standard seat too wide. If you're unsure, the trial is the best way to find out — we can advise on seat width during the trial period.
  • Step 1: Set height so hips are 5–10cm above knees, feet flat on floor
  • Step 2: Adjust seat width so each half sits directly under your sitting bones
  • Step 3: Adjust spring tension to your preference — lighter tension for more movement, firmer for less
  • Step 4: Position your working surface so your elbows are at a comfortable working height
  • Step 5: Start with 2–3 hours per day and build up over 2–4 weeks
See our full setup guide for step-by-step instructions with diagrams.
Most practitioners adapt within 2–4 weeks. In the first week you may notice some mild muscle fatigue in the core, hips and inner thighs — this is completely normal and means the stool is working. Your body is strengthening muscles that conventional chairs allow to weaken. We recommend starting with 2–3 hours per day and building to full-day use gradually. By week 3–4, most practitioners are sitting comfortably all day without thinking about it.

Ordering & delivery

The Salli SwingFit comes with a 10-year warranty on the frame and a 2-year warranty on accessories (including the swing mechanism). This reflects the quality of Finnish manufacturing and the durability of the product under daily professional clinical use.
